Patricia, a native of Puerto Rico, is a doctor of Audiology. As an audiologist, Dr. Masso Maldonado performs comprehensive diagnostic evaluations which include hearing and vestibular (inner ear balance) assessments. She takes pride in educating patient’s about their hearing loss and the tools that can be utilized to improve daily communication, including: aural rehabilitation, hearing aids, cochlear implants, bone anchored hearing devices, and other implantable devices such as as Earlens and Esteem. Dr. Masso Maldonado is also passionate about tinnitus management, the importance of hearing preservation, and teaching her patients to advocate for themselves with regard to their communication needs.
Dr. Masso Maldonado earned her Doctor of Audiology (Au.D.) from the University of Pittsburgh School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences, and she has presented research at national meetings that has won an honor award. Her research included evaluation and management of the elderly patient with hearing loss and glaucoma, speech naturalness and its perception correlates, and hearing aid benefit in post- online auditory rehabilitation.
Outside of work Dr. Masso Maldonado enjoys exploring the city of Atlanta, reading, and enjoying time with friends and family.
